Canadian goaltender Jamie Storr played 10 season in the NHL mostly with the L.A. Kings but coming up played in the Ontario Hockey League. In 1994-95 his fifth season in the OHL Storr was the starting goaltender for the Windsor Spitfires and also served as the starting goalie for Team Canadas World Junior Championship team in the World Juniors Tournament. The competition was held in Ostrava and Frydek-Mistek in the Czech Republic. Canada won the gold medal for the second consecutive year and its seventh overall while Sweden won silver and Russia the bronze.
This lot features Storrs game-worn gold-medal-winning 1994 Team Canada World Juniors Tournament red mesh jersey. Showing plenty of wear with what appears to be a mixture of coffee stains and stick marks on the front collar and chest area the size XXL TACKLA polyester jersey reads CANADA in white with a hockey stick and three maple leafs ironed on across the front accompanied by a white Reebok stamp. The manufacturer's tag is located on the inside rear collar. A pair of DAEWOO MOTOR labels adorn either sleeve. On the back of the jersey is Storrs large number 1 while his last name STORR covers the shoulder area in ironed-on white on a separate red nameplate sewn directly onto the jersey.
Includes Letter of Provenance from the donor of the jersey to the Newport Sports Museum as well as a Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
