Love him or hate him there's no denying the accomplishments of Christian Laettner during his college career. The former 6'11 standout at Duke is the only player to start in 4 consecutive NCAA finals winning back-to-back championships in 1991 and 1992. Laettner holds NCAA Tournament records for most points scored (407) most free throws made and attempted (142 of 167) and most games played (23). Kentucky Wildcat fans will forever be haunted by "The Shot" in the 1992 East Regional Final. Add his Olympic gold medal as a member of the original Dream Team in 1992 and it would be hard to find another player with a comparable resume. While his NBA career did not quite live up to the hype built around his college success Laettner still played 13 solid seasons and was an All-Star.
The jersey presented here is from the 1994-95 season with the Minnesota Timberwolves in which he averaged 16.3 points and 7.5 rebound per game. It is tagged on the lower left with the Champion logo size 44 and the Timberwolves tag with "body length +3" stamped on it. The blue on white and green tackle twill number 32 is stitched on the front and back as well as wolves across the front above the number. Laettner is stitched across the back in blue letters and just between the name and the number Laettner has signed in black felt pen and added a "32" inscription. The signature presents very nicely and is still legible with only some very minor bleeding. The autograph would rate a 8-9/10.
