Danny Manning was drafted with the first overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 1988 NBA Draft and spent 15 seasons in the league. During his NBA career Manning scored 12367 points and averaged 14 points per game. His most productive NBA season was 1992-1993 when he averaged 22.8 points a game for the Clippers and was selected to play in the All-Star Game. This jersey dates to the following season when he averaged 20.6 ppg and 6.8 rebounds and also was selected as an All-Star.
This lot features a 1993-94 Clippers white mesh jersey and matching pair of shorts. The pullover jersey has "Clippers" angled across the chest in blue-outlined red-on-white double tackle twill "5" sewn to the back and left front in like fashion and "Manning" arched atop the number on the back in red block characters. Red-white-and-blue striped stretch ribbed cotton lines the V-neck sides and arm yokes while an NBA silhouette logo patch is sewn to the left shoulder stirrup. On the vented left front tail a "Champion" size "48" manufacturer's label and is accompanied by a "1993-1994 L.A. CLIPPERS - BODY LENGTH +4" exclusivity tag. It exhibits light wear.
The shorts have the Clippers embroidered logo patch on the left front with a red-white-and-blue striped elastic waistband and like-colored trim lining the outer legs. An NBA silhouette logo is sewn just above the vented right leg opening while within the waistband an intact draw string resides opposite a "Champion" size "36" label with a blue marker notation of "5" and an adjacent Champion label with "Rise +2 Inseam +2." Reveals light wear like the jersey.
Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Newport Sports Museum.
