Featured here is longtime Vancouver Canuck Kirk McLean's custom-made goalie mask game-worn during the 1993-1994 season including the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals. McLean has signed and inscribed the left side of the red yellow and black painted mask in 8/10 black marker "Best Wishes Kirk McLean 94-95 Finals". He made a mistake on the year as the Canucks did not make the finals in 1995; they lost in a classic 7-game series to the New York Rangers in the '94 Finals and photos of McLean from that epic series show him donning a mask with the exact same design and paint job! The hockey manufacturer and art designer for the custom paint job are not marked on the mask. The full cage painted in white is fully intact as is the original chinstrap. All interior fiber padding and cloth straps are intact as well. The mask shows excellent game use with chips scrapes and several marks from puck deflections throughout. The exterior paint job is still beautifully well-kept. What an incredible offering for Canuck fans and hockey collectors!
Comes with a Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.

NOTE: This mask is part of Kirk McLean's complete head-to-toe ensemble worn during the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals (pictured here). The balance of the ensemble (jersey pants pads stick glove blocker and skates) will be featured in our Fall 2014 auction.
