John Paxson the current vice president of Basketball Operations for the Chicago Bulls had quite a career on the court in Chicago as well. As a starting member of two of three straight NBA championship teams (1991 to '93) Paxson made a name for himself playing alongside Bulls' mainstays like Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. This lot features a game-worn Chicago Bulls road jersey from Paxson's final season in the NBA (1993-94).
Though the team finished second that season in the Central Division with a 55-27 record they lost in the Eastern Conference semifinals to the New York Knicks in a seven-game showdown. Paxson played in just 27 regular-season games but lent his experience and wisdom to his teammates along the way. The Champion-branded red mesh jersey (size 42) shows some game wear with slight fraying of the letters ("BULLS" on the front and "PAXSON" on the reverse) and his uniform number "5" all of which is featured via black tackle twill outlined in white. The front left tail of the jersey includes the proper CHAMPION manufacturer's tagging one reading "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the CHICAGO BULLS (1993-1994)" and a second reading size "42" complete with washing instructions. The official NBA logo man embroidered patch on the left front sleeve completes the jersey. A great piece of game-used sports memorabilia from one of Chi-town's favorite sons.
