Nice game-worn jersey and sneakers pairing from big man Sam Perkins. The smooth 6’9” lefty with a soft outside shooting touch played 17 seasons in the NBA with four teams and finished with career averages of 12 points and 6 rebounds. Teammates with Michael Jordan and James Worthy on the UNC Tar Heels’ 1982 NCAA title team Sam never got to taste championship glory as a pro despite playing for some great teams in L.A. Seattle and Indiana. Offered here is his Seattle SuperSonics road jersey and pair of Reebok Pumps from the 1992-93 season when the Sonics made it to the Western Conference Finals before falling to Phoenix Suns.
The green Sonics jersey has become a classic from that era with team on front and player name on back in matching green heat-pressed on a white background with yellow trim. His No. 14 in yellow-on-white appears front and back. Appropriate size 48 Champion tagging is found on left front tail with 1992-93 Designed and Tailored Exclusively For SEATTLE SUPERSONICS” and the NBA Authentics logo plus “Body Length +6” below. The unsigned mesh shirt comes all-original with solid game wear.
The black Reebok Pump high-top sneakers come in size 16 and have the familiar orange air-pumping basketball on the tongues with “Above The Rim” stamped there and on the insoles. They are properly tagged on the interior by Reebok and are both signed on the outer heels in green marker. Very well-preserved they show excellent game use. Both items come directly from the personal collection of Coby Karl (son of longtime NBA coach George Karl) who played in the NBA from 2007-10. He received all items from his collection either straight from the player or through his father who coached Perkins in Seattle.
