Nice lot of Kevin McHale and Danny Ainge pairs of game-worn sneakers from the 1992-93 season. The longtime Celtic teammates won five titles between them in the 1980’s wearing green and white but by the early 90’s they were in the twilight of their careers Ainge having moved on to the Phoenix Suns. The 6’10” McHale was a 7-time All-Star during his 13 years spent entirely in Boston and finished his Hall of Fame career in ’92-93. Few players could score as efficiently down low as “The Black Hole” a nickname bestowed on McHale by Ainge and Larry Bird for his oft-reluctance to pass out of the post. The 6’3” Ainge was a key cog for Boston during their run in the 80’s making the ‘88 All-Star team. He served as an important reserve guard on the early 90’s Suns teams that boasted Kevin Johnson and Dan Majerle in the backcourt.

McHale’s black Converse high-tops have a “CONVERSE OFFICIAL SHOE OF THE NBA” tag underneath the tongue with “CONS” stamped in four places on each shoe. No size is indicated but they appear to come in a large size (15-16) befitting of McHale. He has signed each one on the back outer heels in silver marker with his No. “32” inscribed. Original black laces are present and custom-fitting blue orthotic inserts are installed on the interior. Ainge’s black Reebok Pumps come in size 11.5 with “Above The Rim” tagged underneath the tongue. Ainge has signed the left side of each in black marker. Original white laces are present but the insoles have been removed. A custom padding for the foot is installed. Both pairs show excellent game wear and come directly from the personal collection of Coby Karl (son of longtime NBA coach George Karl) who played in the NBA from 2007-10. He received all items from his collection either straight from the player or through his father.
