Featured here is an autographed Bob Essensa Winnipeg Jets custom-made goalie mask game-worn during the 1992-93 season. Essensa has signed the top of the red white and blue painted mask in perfect 10/10 black Sharpie with his "#35" inscribed. Though untagged by the artist it appears to be a Greg Harrison design which is who painted Essensa's masks during his final two seasons with the Jets. The white airplane painted in five places on the mask represents the Avro Arrow fighter jet made in Canada in the late 1950s. The "RL 207" flanked around the Canadian leaf on the back head/neck protector signifies the model number of the last line of Avro Arrow jets that would have been produced this all according to a letter posted online by Greg Harrison about his design (http://www.gameusedmasks.com/maskshtml/essensa_jets_matches.html).
No manufacturers tags or stamps are present; this is consistent with other Essensa masks from this era. The full cage painted in white is fully intact as is the original chinstrap. All interior fiber padding and cloth straps are intact as well. The mask shows great game use especially on the front chin where it appears a puck made solid contact. The exterior paint job is still beautifully well-kept. What an incredible offering for Jets fans and hockey collectors!
Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Winnipeg Jets equipment manager as well as a Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
