Former NHL left winger Jay Miller was selected by the Quebec Nordiques with the 66th overall pick in the 1980 NHL entry draft. Miller never got a chance to show his skills with the Quebec Nordiques and spent a few seasons with a handful of American and International Hockey League teams. In 1985 however the 6' 2" 190-pounder signed as a free agent with the Boston Bruins and made the team that year as their enforcer. In the 1985-86 season he played in 46 games and collected 178 penalty minutes. His role continued to expand with the Bruins playing in 78 games during the 1987-88 regular season and racking up 304 penalty minutes. That year in the playoffs Jay was a regular on the Bruins' squad playing in 12 games and picking up 124 minutes in penalties. In January 1989 he was traded from Boston to the Los Angeles Kings for future considerations. Jay Miller played four more seasons with the LA Kings largely playing the role of enforcer on a team that included the Great One himself Wayne Gretzky He retired in 1992 having played 446 career NHL regular season games with 1723 penalty minutes.

This lot features Miller's 1991-92 Los Angeles Kings game-worn road jersey. The black CCM jersey with silver and white highlights boasts the L.A. Kings over-sized embroidered team logo patch across the front with the NHL's "75th Anniversary" patch positioned on the right front shoulder. The 100% jersey includes the "Maska" manufacturer's tag on the inside rear collar positioned next to a strip tag reading "54" to indicate its size. The Kings embroidered "The Silver Season Anniversary" patch resides on the left sleeve while Miller's uniform number "29" can be found on either sleeve as well as the back of the jersey in silver tackle twill outlined in black and white. His last name - "MILLER" - is positioned just above the number 29 on the reverse in similar tackle twill fashion. The jersey shows some game use with noticeable fraying of letters and numbers throughout.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
