This blazing Angels jersey is from Jim Abbott a truly inspirational player from the 1990's who pitched the in the major leagues for 10 seasons despite having been born without a right hand. He played for the California Angels the New York Yankees the Chicago White Sox and the Milwaukee Brewers; this jersey is from his second year in the bigs with the Angels where he enjoyed the most success during his career. While at the University of Michigan Abbott won the James E. Sullivan Award as the nation's best amateur athlete in 1987 and won a gold medal in the demonstration event at the 1988 Summer Olympics. He was drafted in the first round of the 1988 Major League Baseball Draft and reached the majors the next year. He threw a no-hitter against the Cleveland Indians in 1993 and retired with a career record of 87 wins and 108 losses with a 4.25 earned run average. This attractive white pullover garment features "Angels" across the chest in red-on-navy tackle twill with a yellow tackle twill halo around the "A." Abbott's No. 25 has been sewn to the front left and back in red-on-navy tackle twill the same configuration used for "Abbott" on a white nameplate across the shoulders on the back. Each sleeve and the collar bear a navy-red-navy knitted stripe accent and the left sleeve bears the circular Angels patch. A Rawlings main label size 46 with laundry instructions appears on the left front tail with a small white swatch reading "T" in navy stitching and a smaller flap tag with "Set 1 1990." Abbott has signed in black marker across the bottom element of the No. 2 of his number on the back. Jersey shows light wear and is in all respects problem free and unaltered.
