1985 marked the beginning of on-going contract disputes between Dickerson and the Rams and after playing just three games for the Rams during the strike-shortened 1987 season Dickerson was traded to the Indianapolis Colts in one of the NFL's biggest trades ever a three-way deal between the Rams the Buffalo Bills and the Colts. Dickerson would play nine games for the Colts and finish the year with 1288 yards helping the Colts to their first winning year and playoff berth in 10 years.
The jersey exhibits moderate game wear with holes and stains appearing on both sleeve numbering areas. As often found on Dickerson game worn jerseys the neck area contains a slit. The jersey is consistent with style manufacturer and font as what would be expected to be seen on a circa 1987 Dickerson gamer.
