1987-88 UCLA Bruins jersey game worn and signed by future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman. Aikman has signed the number 8 on the back "Troy Aikman 8" in 8/10 black felt tip pen. 1987-88 was a banner year for Troy he won the 1988 Davey O'Brien Award as the nation's top quarterback a first for UCLA. He was a consensus All-American the UPI West Coast Player of the year and finished third for the 1988 Heisman Trophy. The Bruins were 10-2 in the regular season and defeated Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl 17-3. Aikman went on to play 12 seasons in the NFL all for the Dallas Cowboys leading his team to three Super Bowl victories and being named Super Bowl XXVII MVP. Selected to the Pro Bowl six times Aikman was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006 and to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008. Gold "8" with black trim applied to front back and both sleeves. "AIKMAN" applied to nameplate sewn on back. W. A. Goodman & Sons size 48 tag sewn in front tail. Jersey displays moderate game use.
Includes a letter of provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
