The 1986-87 Los Angeles Lakers finished the regular season with a record of 65-17 which put them atop the Western Conferences Pacific Division. They steamrolled through the NBA playoffs and then squared off against their arch-rival Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. In a hard-fought series the Lakers emerged victorious four games to two. The team was led that season by four mainstays: Magic Johnson (23.8 points per game average); James Worthy (19.4 ppg); Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (17.4 ppg); and defensive specialist Michael Cooper who tallied 78 steals and 43 blocked shots. This lot features a multi-signed Spalding basketball that has been autographed in silver paint pen by the four previously mentioned players. A great piece of sports memorabilia celebrating one of the leagues most successful franchises in history.
