On January 20 1985 Super Bowl XIX was played at Stanford Stadium in Stanford California. The NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers bested the AFC Champion Miami Dolphins by the score of 38-16. Super Bowl MVP Joe Montana led the Niners passing attack by completing 24 of 358 passes for 331 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for a touchdown from six yards out. This lot features a game-used football from Super Bowl XIX. The official NFL Wilson (Rozelle) football is emblazoned with three tiers of black stamping on one panel that reads: National Football League/American Football League/National Football League. Miami signal-caller Dan Marino completed 29 of 50 passes for 313 yards but two costly picks helped seal the Dolphins fate. A terrific piece of game-used gridiron memorabilia from one of the Super Bowls most-talked-about QB match-ups ever.
