Hall of Fame infielder Rod Carew spent his first 12 seasons in the majors playing for the Minnesota Twins where he won seven American League batting titles before moving to the then-California Angels in 1979. His final seven seasons were spent playing for the Halos before he hung up his cleats following the 1985 season. This lot features Carews autographed and game-worn Angels road jersey from the 85 campaign when he batted .280 and collected another 124 hits in 127 games. The size 42 V-neck gray jersey features the W.A. Goodman & Sons manufacturer's tag on the left front tail which includes washing instructions. The jersey shows good game use with dirt and sweat stains around the collar. Across the front of the pullover jersey is Angels in red tackle twill sporting a blue outline with the A wearing a yellow halo around its top. His uniform number 29 is positioned on the left breast in similar tackle twill fashion. The back of the jersey features his last name CAREW as well as his uniform number 29 in red tackle twill with blue outlining. The jersey shows good game usage with noticeable fraying of both the letters and numbers. The left sleeve sports the standard California Angels patch while the right sleeve features the Angels 25th Anniversary (1961-1985) embroidered patch. Carew autographed the back of the jersey in black marker across the bottom of the 2 in 29. He added the inscription HOF 91 beneath his signature.
