The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, formerly the California Angels, have a rich and storied history in the annals of Major League Baseball. Several Baseball Hall of Famers have worn the Angels’ uniform including Frank Robinson, Dave Winfield, Rod Carew, Nolan Ryan and Reggie Jackson. This lot features five mostly game-worn jerseys used by Angels’ players between 1984 and ’91. The first is former player Devon White’s 1984 Angels’ home jersey. White did not actually make his debut in the big leagues until 1985, but his jersey was issued in '84 and likely worn during his rookie season. He signed the size 42 Wilson pullover jersey on the front in black marker just to the left of his uniform number “30.” The jersey shows good game usage with noticeable fraying of the red outlined in blue tackle twill lettering and numbers on the front and back.

The first of the four remaining Angels’ road jerseys belonged to former shortstop Gary DiSarcina (No. 11). The gray button-down size 44 Rawlings jersey (Set 1, 1990) exhibits minimal use with proper tagging on the left font tail. The next jersey was Kenny Easley’s No. 62 road jersey. Sporting proper tagging on the left front tail (Set 1, 1989), the jersey shows some wear with fraying evident of the tackle twill lettering and numbering on the front and back. Another of the jerseys belonged to reliever Mike Butcher. His No. 44 gray road jersey includes the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag on the left front tail and exhibits very little wear. The last of the four road jerseys belonged to Carew, who was issued the jersey during his coaching stint with the team, not his playing career. In fact, he did not begin his coaching tenure with the Angels until 1992, although the Set 1 jersey was issued by the team in 1989 (four years after his retirement). The 1989 MLB All-Star Game embroidered patch, which the Angels hosted in '89, can be found on the right sleeve. The No. 29 Rawlings jersey (size 43) shows no wear.
