Presented here is a gilt-bronze commemorative plaque issued by the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF) to Rudolf Povarnitsyin of the Soviet Union recognizing his world record in the men's high jump — 2.40 meters, set on August 11, 1985, in Donetsk. The reverse face reads "INTERNATIONAL AMATEUR ATHLETIC FEDERATION / TO / RUDOLF POVARNITSIN / (URS) / WORLD RECORD HOLDER / HIGH JUMP / 2.40m / 11 AUGUST 1985 / DONETSK," framed by a sculpted laurel wreath.

The front panel features the winged Nike figure atop a globe, with the IAAF monogram and full organizational name in raised lettering. The plaque retains its original blue velvet-lined display case. Povarnitsyin would go on to claim Olympic bronze at Seoul in 1988.
