During the 1985-86 NBA season Detroit Pistons' small forward Kelly Tripucka averaged 20 points and 4.3 rebounds per game to help the Motown crew post a 46-36 record good enough for third place in the Eastern Conference's Central Division standings. This campaign marked the 26-year-old Tripucka's fifth and final season in Detroit; he would move on to the Utah Jazz the following season before finishing his career as a member of the Charlotte Hornets.This lot features Kelly Tripucka's 1985-86 Detroit Pistons game-worn home jersey.
The Medalist Sand Knit size 42 white nylon jersey showing substantial wear includes screened-on identifiers ("PISTONS" and "7") on the front in red outlined in blue while two different labels are sewn on to the left front tail: "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the DETROIT PISTONS" and the "MacGregor SAND KNIT [size] 42" and one separate label adorns the right front tail: "EAST SIDE SPTG. GDS. Warren Michigan Distributors Medalist Sand Knit." On the reverse his last name "TRIPUCKA" appears across the shoulders in screened-on blue along with his uniform number "7" in red outlined in blue. The Pistons' trademark red white and blue elastic knit adorns the collar and arm openings. Some slight discoloration appears in various areas of the jersey. A great piece of Pistons' game-worn memorabilia from one of the franchise's fan favorites.
