During the 1984 NFL season the San Francisco 49ers led by quarterback Joe Montana posted a 15-1 regular-season record before embarking on their playoff journey. In the post-season the Niners went on a roll by first disposing of the New York Giants 21-10 before blanking the Chicago Bears 23-0 in the NFC Championship game. In Super Bowl XIX on January 20 1985 the Niners totally manhandled Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins 38-16. This lot features a 1984 San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl XIX Champions 10K gold lady's ring that was issued to the wife of longtimeteam scout Neil Schmidt who worked diligently for the team for 28years. He passed away in 2006. The beautifully designed size 6 ring boasts dozens of small diamonds on the top which is surrounding by raised lettering that reads: “SAN FRANCISCO 1984 WORLD CHAMPIONS.” One shank simply reads “49ERS” while the other reads “XIX.” The inside band is engraved 10K” and includes the initial “RGS.” The ring presents in outstandingcondition.
Includes LOA from the scout's widow Rosemary Schmidt.
