The 1983-84 season was a highly successful one for the franchise from start to finish. The team rolled through the regular season, finishing with an impressive 62-20 record. In the playoffs, the Celtics defeated the Washington Bullets in the first round in three games, narrowly escaped the New York Knicks in the conference semi-finals in seven games, and dominated the Milwaukee Bucks in the Conference Finals in five games, advancing to the NBA Finals.
In the Finals, the Celtics faced their chief rival, the Los Angeles Lakers. It was the first time that Larry Bird and Magic Johnson ever met in the Finals. The Celtics escaped the Lakers in a hard-fought seven game series to win the title. It was the team’s fifteenth NBA title and eighth over the Lakers.
Offered here is a 1984 Boston Celtics NBA Championship ring, a spectacular 14K gold Balfour ring with a real diamond at the center of a Celtics green shamrock on the face, surrounded by the words "Boston Celtics World Champions." On one shank is the name "Singer," along with the word "Pride" beneath an engraving of a Celtics caricature; on the other is the iconic NBA logo, with a green background, and the year 1984. On the inside of the band is the engraving "BALFOUR 14K.” Size: 10.5, Weight: 35 grams.
