The 1982 Major League Baseball season represented the only one in history where the Milwaukee Brewers won an American League pennant. They finished the regular season with a record of 95-67 one game ahead of the Baltimore Orioles in the A.L. East Division standings. They then defeated the A.L. West Division Champion California Angels in an exciting best-of-five American League Championship Series three games to two. Though they lost to the N.L. Champion St. Louis Cardinals in the Fall Classic four games to three it was a most memorable season for the Brew Crew. Managed by Buck Rodgers the team was led by a pair of future Hall of Famers Robin Yount who hit .331 and captured the A.L. MVP award and Paul Molitor who batted .302.

Featured in this lot is a 1982 Milwaukee Brewers ALCS Championship 10K gold ring given to an employee whose last name was Trovato. Large 40 point diamond at center sits atop a blue stone surrounded by "American League Champions" in raised lettering. One shank reads "1982" with the American League logo showing while the other shank reads "TROVATO positioned above the Brewers team logo. Inside band is stamped "Balfour 10K". Ring shows extensive use and comes inside its original Balfour blue-and-gold box. Ring size: 11 ¾. The Brewers now compete in the Central Division of the National League so this ring is truly a special memento from years gone by.

5/30/2012 LOA from the dealer who sold the ring originally.
