Offered here is a full 1980 Olympics Team USA warm-up suit worn by USA Swimmer Brian Goodell winner of two Olympic gold medals at the 1976 Montreal Summer Games. The U.S. boycotted the 1980 Moscow Summer Olympics and did not attend so one can assume Goodell wore this Levi's jacket and pants combo before or after training sessions leading up to those Games. The blue zipper jacket made of terry cloth fabric has "USA" in white with red outline sewn on the back with a large USA 1980 Olympic Team patch on the left chest. Levi Strauss & Co. tagging behind the collar reads "MADE EXCLUSIVELY FOR USA 1980 OLYMPIC TEAM" with a flag tag marked "XL/R" in black ballpoint. A red white and blue 'LEVI'S" patch is just inside the front of the turtle neck collar. A similar looking "SWIMMING" patch adorns the right chest. The matching blue terry cloth pants have the same Levi's tagging inside the waistband with a 32 x 34 flag tag marked "BR" in black marker. A Levi's patch adorns the left thigh. The suit shows moderate wear and comes essentially as-issued. It was gifted by Goodell directly to John Hamilton founder of the Newport Sports Museum.

Includes a letter of provenance from the Newport Sports Museum. John Hamilton is a fellow USC alum and chairman of the USC Athletic Hall of Fame. Hamilton himself was enshrined in 2015 for his role in developing the USC Hall of Fame in 1994 as well as his many charitable endeavors including the museum.
