1980 saw Ozzie Smith winning the first of what would be 13 consecutive Gold Glove Awards and his 621 assists is still the single season record for shortstops. The following season would see “The Wizard” voted to his first All-Star team as he led the league in games played, at-bats and plate appearances. Ozzie would move from San Diego to St. Louis the next year where he would really start to put up the numbers that earned him a place in Cooperstown. Ozzie’s two-tone Louisville Slugger 'C243' Professional Model bat shows good game use and appears to have a cracked handle. The barrel displays several ball marks and bat rack abrasions. A ring of adhesive tape is located mid-handle and the Hall of Famer’s famous number “1” is found on the barrel end in white paint. A very attractive gamer from one of the Cardinals most popular players of all-time. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA and has been graded a GU 8.
