This lot features a 1979 St. Louis Cardinals double knit home jersey game worn by manager Ken Boyer. As manager of the Cardinals in 1979 his only full year as the St. Louis head man he led the team to an 86-76 record and third-place finish. As a player for the Cardinals from 1955 through 1965 Boyer was a seven-time All-Star and the 1964 National League Most Valuable Player. The white jersey has tackle twill pair of Cardinals atop a gold bat sewn on the chest. Boyer's uniform number "14" is sewn on both sleeves in red with black trim. Reverse has "BOYER" and "14" both in the same red with black trim. Rawlings and "SET 1 1979" tags is sewn inside the left front tail.
