Few players in the history of the National Football League are so instantaneously linked with the league's premier event the Super Bowl but such is part of the legacy of Franco Harris who arrived in the NFL just as the Super Bowl extravaganza was becoming all of that. By the time he retired after 12 seasons with the Steelers and a farewell campaign in Seattle the Hall of Famer had amassed more than 12000 rushing yards and scored 100 touchdowns but most significantly had been an integral part of what was arguably the greatest team of the decade. With four Super Bowl titles under his belt Harris and his Steeltown teammates had secured their place in the NFL's annals with a dynasty that ranks among the greatest ever. Of those four Super Bowl crowns the third would come with a 35-31 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl XIII the glorious completion of a 16-win domination of the NFC (inclusive of playoffs) during which this picture-perfect white durene gamer saw action. Further linking the Canton-quality collectible to late-season activity is the long-sleeved style present here which was solely utilized for cold-weather contests. The style is unmistakable and transports us instantly to Steeltown's prime football age. Harris No. "32" is applied to chest shoulders and verso in bold black tackle twill with "Harris" standing in black and yellow block letters on the nameplate on the back. Wear is quite strong with four team repairs evident most notably in an inch-long gash between the front numerals. A proper "MacGregor Sand-Knit [size] 46" label appears at lower left front tail slightly loose at right edge just below a simple "78" year swatch. The jersey is autographed and extensively notated by its famous former owner the vivid gold Sharpie stating "Super Bowl XIII Champs Super Bowl IX MVP Game Used 1978" along with Harris' signature.
