The 1977 and 78 seasons were big ones for the New York Yankees. Not only did they win back-to-back World Series but they won them both in dramatic fashion. This is the coachs home uniform that Yankees icon Yogi Berra wore during both of those incredible seasons. The pinstriped Wilson jersey shows plenty of wear with the proper identifying tag sewn into the inside back collar (Berra 77). Plenty of fraying is evident on the Navy blue No. 8 sewn on the jersey back. Berra has signed the front of the jersey just above the Yankees "NY" symbol in fine point black marker. The size 38 Wilson pants meanwhile show some wear and fraying as well and include the proper tags on the inside (Berra 78-2-23). Every single button is intact.
Includes a letter of provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
