1976 Reggie Jackson Orioles game worn road jersey from his one-year stay in Baltimore signed by the Hall of Famer below his number on the front. Knowing that free agency was coming after the 1976 baseball season and realizing that he would not be able to keep his star right fielder Oakland A's owner Charlie Finley traded Jackson minor leaguer Bill Van Bommell and Ken Holtzman to the Baltimore Orioles for Don Baylor Mike Torrez and Paul Mitchell on April 2 1976. Jackson had a solid .277 27 HR 91 RBI season during his one year layover before joining the Yankees in 1977. The requisite Wilson tag (Size 42) appears on the collar and a "76 Set" grey tag with black stitching appears on the lower-left front tail. Orange with black trim tackle twill "Orioles" and "9" on front chest with "R. Jackson" and "9" on the back. Black white and orange trim at neck and on both sleeves. All seven buttons original. Jersey exhibits game use. Beautiful condition completely original Orioles jersey belonging to Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson from his one and only year in Baltimore. Reggie has autographed his name and inscribed his No. '9' and 'HOF 93' induction year on the front of the jersey in beautiful 9-10/10 black marker. The '5/8/96' part of the inscription stands for the date in which he signed it.

Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Orioles Scouting Director.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.

The item in this lot comes from the personal collection of longtime MLB executive Tom Giordano. After a very brief playing stint at 2nd base for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1953 Giordano moved on to a coaching managing and scouting career in baseball that is now 66 years and counting (began in 1948 in minor leagues). He was Director of Scouting and Player Development for the Baltimore Orioles from 1976-1987 before moving on to similar baseball operations positions with the Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers. In 2007 Giordano was named East Coast Scout of the Year.
