Addendum: MEARS has determined this jersey to be from 1975-77.
"The Juice" was the first professional football player to rush for morethan 2000 yards in a season a mark he set in 1973. While six otherplayers have since passed the 2000 rush yard mark he stands alone asthe only player to do so in a 14-game season. Simpson was elected to the Pro Football Hall ofFame in 1985. He remains a member of the exclusive Canton Ohio club forhis dominating play on the gridiron regardless of his post-careertransgressions off it. Presented here is O.J.'s game-worn home jersey from the 1975-77 era his last three years with the Buffalo Bills. In '75 O.J. rushed for 1817 with 16 touchdowns on the ground and another seven TD catches. The following season he ran for 1503 yards. Simpson's '77 season cut short by injury (557 yards and 0 TD's in 7 games) that led to him being traded to the 49ers for his last two years in the NFL.
The blue mesh jersey has “32” in white screened-on numbers with a redborder on the front back and both sleeves. His NOB “SIMPSON” appears in white screened-on blockletters straight across a blue nameplate on the upper back. Each sleeve has two white stripes outlined in red. On the left front tail is the appropriate Medalist Sand-Knit manufacturer’s tagging withwash instructions and size “LARGE” indicated. Just above is the “Designed &Tailored Exclusively for Buffalo Bills” tag. Overall the shirt displays moderate game use with a spot stain under the left armpit and some small holes in the fabric on the back.
Includes letter of provenance from the family of renowned sports agent Bob Woolf. LOA from MEARS with A9 grade.
