Here is a stunning jersey from the legendary Lou Brock the Hall of Famer who inspired legions of fans in St. Louis and broke hearts in Chicago where he had once been a promising farmhand. Brock was honored with The Sporting News Player of the Year Award in 1974 the Roberto Clemente Award in March 1975 and in 1977 he was awarded the Lou Gehrig Memorial Award as the player who best exemplified Lou Gehrig's ability and character. In 1978 the National League announced that its annual stolen base leader would receive the Lou Brock Award making Brock the first active player to have an award named after him. Brock was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1985 his first year of eligibility. The jersey has the Rawlings Size 40 labeling on the front right inside tail with "74" embroidered flag tag adjacent. The famed Cardinals logo with bat and two birds is across the chest of the pullover shirt with the delicate chenille embroidery in red gold and black in fine shape revealing only the tiniest whispers of any separation or fraying of the stitching. Brock's famed No. 20 appears front and back below his block-letter name all on red and black tackle twill with only slight puckering of the letters and numbers apparent. On the front right side of the shirt across from his No. 20 is a dramatically oversized black Sharpie Brock autograph. Simply put a marvelous artifact from a beloved St. Louis figure.
