Fred Carter was a pinpoint shooting guard in the NBA during the 1970s. He spent four seasons competing for the Philadelphia 76ers and led the team in scoring in three of those campaigns. This lot features Craters game-worn 1973-74 Philadelphia 76ers home jersey a season in which he averaged a team-leading 21.4 points per game. The Sixers finished fourth in the Atlantic Division standings that season. The old-school 76ers white jersey reads Sixers across the front in red tackle twill and features red white and blue piping down the sides around the collar and around both tank top openings. On the left front tail a Pearson Sporting Goods manufacturers tag is hanging on next to an embroidered white sewn-on tag that reads 38 73. A small faded and frayed strip tag hangs from that. A total of four white stars positioned one on top of the other down either side of the jersey against a large 2.5 blue strip that runs the length of either side of the jersey. Carters uniform number 3 appears on the front and back in blue tackle twill outlined in red. His last name CARTER is arched across the shoulders of the jersey in blue tackle twill lettering thats been sewn directly onto a white nameplate thats been sewn onto the jersey. Excellent wear is evident with the puckering fraying of the numbers and letters and a few snags in the fabric.
