Former ABA standout Zelmo Beaty was arguably the Utah Stars' greatest player ever. Though an undersized center at 6’ 9” tall Beaty was named the MVP of the ABA playoffs in 1971 the season in which his Stars won the ABA Championship. "Big Z" – as he was known – was also a two-time NBA All-Star. Beaty passed away in 2013 at the age of 73 but was inducted posthumously into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016.
Presented here is a 1971 Utah Stars ABA Championship 10K gold ring that was presented to Beaty’s wife Ann. The ring features a small round-cut diamond on the face along with the proclamation "Utah Stars ABA Champions." The inside band is engraved “ANNIE” and "LGB 10K" is stamped just below it. The size 4.5 ring (10g) is in near mint condition.
