An oversized showcase of the era's biggest stars, this complete 1971 Topps Super set brings together all 63 cards from Topps' short-lived large-format issue, plus 16 additional duplicate cards for a combined total of 79 pieces. Each card measures significantly larger than a standard issue, with a vivid, full-bleed action or posed photograph running to the card's edge and a facsimile autograph stamped across the image, giving the set an almost poster-like presence. The checklist reads like a Cooperstown who's who: Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Johnny Bench, Roberto Clemente, Pete Rose, Reggie Jackson, Willie Stargell, Willie McCovey, Bob Gibson, and Gaylord Perry are among the Hall of Famers represented in the sample cards shown. The backs are kept intentionally simple, with just a bordered name and team box on uncluttered stock, letting the oversized photography remain the focal point. Because of their large size and thinner production run compared to the standard 1971 set, Topps Supers are notably more fragile and harder to find in top condition, making a complete run with duplicates a genuine find for vintage set collectors. This lot offers both the depth of a complete set and the flexibility of extra crossover pieces for upgrading personal copies or trading with fellow collectors.
