In 1971 the Pittsburgh Pirates won the N.L. East flag after posting 97 regular-season wins. They then defeated the San Francisco Giants three games to one in the NLCS before outlasting the Baltimore Orioles in the World Series four games to three. Managed by Danny Murtaugh the Pirates cemented the franchise’s fourth Fall Classic title. They were led that season by powerful bats belonging to the hard-hitting trio of Roberto Clemente Manny Sanguillen and Willie Stargell.
This lot features a 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates World Series Champions ladies ring. The 10K gold ring boasts a large black stone with a separate lighter gemstone centered in the middle. One shank reads “1971 WORLD CHAMPION” while the other shank sports the iconic “P” logo. The inner band is engraved “AHE” and is stamped “10K.”
