Frank Robinson was one of baseballs great gamers. As Rookie of the Year in 1956 and an MVP in both leagues (with the Reds in 1961 and the Orioles in 66) he developed a reputation as an aggressive outfielder and hard-charging baserunner. The American League Triple Crown winner in 1966 Robinson amassed 586 home runs and ended his career just 57 hits shy of the 3000-hit club. His intelligence and leadership helped him become the Major Leagues first African-American field manager in 1975 when he skippered the Cleveland Indians. It is with Baltimore however that Robinsons legacy is most entrenched. Fellow HoFer and teammate Brooks Robinson stated He solidified the club. We became a great team when he came to know us and how much he could do for all of us.

Photographic evidence shows the offered jersey being worn by Frank Robinson during Game 1 of the 1971 World Series when Frank Robinson hit a home run. Inside the left rear tail of this white home knit jersey is the Rawlings manufacturers tag with jersey size 44. Adjacent is a wash instructions tag. The team name Orioles spans the front in classic script while the player number 20 appears on both the front and back. Player name F. ROBINSON appears across the back. All numbers and letters are done in orange on black tackle twill. A ribbed elastic trim encircles the collar and Robinsons faded autograph appears on front. Completely original and unaltered the jersey shows excellent game-use. An accompanying photo shows Robinson wearing what we believe to be this very jersey during his home run at-bat in Game 1 of the 1971 World Series.
