Hall of Fame pitching sensation Nolan Ryan began his 27-year major league career with the New York Mets in 1966. After missing almost the entire 67 season due to illness an arm injury and service in the Army Reserves Ryan bounced back for the Mets in 1968 and stayed with the team through the 71 season. He was traded to the then-California Angels on Dec. 10 1971. Offered here is Ryans 1970 New York Mets game-worn home flannel jersey one of the finest Ryan jerseys in existence.

Coming off the Amazins jaw-dropping four-games-to-one World Series victory over the Baltimore Orioles in 69 Ryan started in 19 games for the Mets in 1970 winning seven and throwing five complete games. He also struck out 125 batters and posted an ERA of 3.42. The Spalding jersey has "Mets" emblazoned across the front in blue felt script outlined in orange tackle twill. Ryans uniform number 30 also appears in blue felt on the front (3.75 tall) and also appears on the back in blue outlined in orange tackle twill. There is a Mets logo patch on the left sleeve and a "Set 1 #8P 1970 strip tag sewn onto the left front tail next to the washing instructions tag and just below the Spalding manufacturers tag. On the inside back collar there rests another strip tag with blue chain stitching that reads 42 70 30 indicating the jersey size year and uniform number. The jersey shows good game usage with mild soiling. All eight original buttons remain intact. A terrific piece of game-worn baseball memorabilia from one of the sports greatest players of all time the pitcher who still owns MLB records for career strikeouts (5714) and no-hitters (seven).

Includes Letter of Opinion from MEARS A10.
