Presented here is a ticket stub from Game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals between the L.A. Lakers and New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden that delivered New York its first NBA championship. As of this listing, only eleven stubs from this historic game have ever been authenticated by PSA, with only one graded higher than this PSA GD 2 example. The PSA flip notes that this Game 7, along with being the Knicks' first title, was "The Willis Reed Game."

The 1969-70 regular season MVP, Reed missed Game 6 after suffering a torn thigh muscle in Game 5. The 6' 10" center decided to give it a go in Game 7 after receiving painkiller injections. When the MSG faithful saw Reed limping onto the court during warm-ups, they erupted into a frenzy. Although remembered as the "Willis Reed Game", Knicks point guard Walt "Clyde" Frazier led the way with a clutch 36 points and 19 assists, one of the most gaudy stat lines in NBA Finals history. Reed’s four points and three rebounds in 27 minutes of action paled in comparison to the spark he provided for fans and teammates en route to a decisive 113-99 Knicks victory. In 2010, ESPN named this thrilling contest the Greatest Game 7 in NBA Finals history.

The green colored ticket from the 2nd Promenade at hallowed MSG has a clean tear on the bottom (smoother than most examples) and a diagonal crease on the upper right corner. Print remains bold and surface very clean on the front. The reverse has a little tape remnants and notations in blue ballpoint from the original attendee, who is also the consignor. 54 years ago as a teenager he attended this famous game and made notes on the back for his recollection; hence, the "MK" qualifier. In 2022, we sold a PSA Authentic example of this stub for $30,343.
