This is an important full uniform from Donald Sidle an important figure in early ABA history. A 6-8 forward/center Sidle played at the University of Oklahoma from 1965 to 1968 and was an All-American in 1967 and 1968 after seasons in which he averaged 23.7 points and 19.8 points per game respectively. Sidle was selected by the San Francisco Warriors with the 29th pick of the 1968 NBA Draft but he spent his professional career in the American Basketball Association as a member of the Miami Floridians Denver Rockets Indiana Pacers and Memphis Pros. Over four seasons (1968-1972) he averaged 13.5 points and 8 rebounds per game. On the left front tail is the Wilson manufacturers tag with wash instructions and size 44. Written in blue ink is +2. Across the front is DENVER." Player No. 33 appears on both the front and back. All these numbers and letters are done in black on white tackle twill. The name on back has been removed. Beneath the rear inner waistband of the matching shorts is the Wilson manufacturers tag with wash instructions and size 35 hand-written in. Attached is a faded flag tag. Adjacent are several numbers written and crossed out. On the left leg is the team Rocket done in black on white tackle twill. There is minimal fraying of the white and black stitching on letters and numbers and some of expected puckering on the tackle twill of both. The uniform is properly tagged and shows game use. Other than what is mentioned there appear to be no further alterations of any kind. Includes LOA from Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
