Roger Maris, the man who shattered Babe Ruth's single-season home run record in 1961, is honored with a personally signed 1968 Topps card from the final season of his playing career with the St. Louis Cardinals. The signature, inked boldly in blue across the front of the card, has been authenticated by both PSA and PSA/DNA.

 

The reverse details Maris's fine comeback campaign, noting he was the hitting star of the 1967 World Series, batting .385 with seven RBI across seven games to help lead St. Louis to the title, alongside his complete major and minor league batting record dating back to 1953. A trivia cartoon on the lower portion references teammate Lou Brock's stolen base totals. Signed examples of Maris's final-season Topps card remain relatively scarce given his early retirement and passing in 1985, making this a meaningful piece for collectors of the 1961 home run chase legacy.
