Presented is a 1968 Topps #177 Nolan Ryan rookie card graded PSA EX-MT 6 (PSA cert. #174090213). As the first Topps card of baseball's all-time strikeout king, this is one of the most important and widely collected rookie cards of the 1960s.

The card follows Topps' multi-player "Rookie Stars" format, pairing Ryan with fellow New York Mets prospect Jerry Koosman. Both pitchers would play key roles on the 1969 "Miracle Mets" world championship team, making this card a dual tribute to a pivotal chapter in franchise history. The card features the familiar burlap-textured border of the 1968 Topps design, which is unforgiving of wear and makes higher-grade examples increasingly difficult to locate.

This example displays the solid eye appeal expected at the EX-MT level. The portraits of both Ryan and Koosman are clear, the colors are strong, and the card shows only light corner wear and minor surface flaws consistent with the assigned grade. The overall presentation is attractive and well balanced.

Ryan's career is unmatched in many respects. Over 27 seasons with the Mets, Angels, Astros and Rangers, he recorded a record 5,714 strikeouts, tossed a record seven no-hitters and led his league in strikeouts 11 times. His first-ballot Hall of Fame induction in 1999 came with one of the highest vote percentages in history. Koosman, meanwhile, won 222 games and earned two All-Star selections. This is a premium mid-to-high grade example of a hobby cornerstone, ideal for vintage collectors and Ryan enthusiasts.
