With a NM PSA 7 grade this full unused 1968 Super Bowl II yellow variation ticket stands alone as the highest graded in the hobby bar none! The game between the NFL Champion Green Bay Packers and AFL Champion Oakland Raiders was played at the Orange Bowl in Miami Florida on January 14 1968. The defending World Champion Packers posted a 941 record during the 1967 NFL regular season and dominated the Los Angeles Rams in the 1st round of the playoffs. In the 1967 NFL Championship game they defeated the Dallas Cowboys 2117 in freezing weather at Green Bay in a contest since known as the Ice Bowl. The Oakland Raiders finished the 1967 season with a 131 record and crushed the Houston Oilers 407 in the 1967 AFL Championship game. In Super Bowl II the Packers continued their dominance of their AFL opponents with a decisive 33-14 triumph. Bart Starr was named the Most Valuable Player in the game with Coach Vince Lombardi collecting his ninth consecutive playoff victory. Lombardi would not lead the Packers again as he moved on to Washington to coach the Redskins the following season. This ticket is super clean with blazing color. All corners are NM or better. It is the only ticket from Super Bowl II in any color variation (blue white or yellow) to receive a Near Mint PSA 7 grade from PSA. SMR value is $24000 but that is being conservative considering this ticket has no equal. Comes from one of the top Super Bowl ticket collections on the registry.
