Best known for his role as Kato in the 1966-'67 TV series "The Green Hornet" and for the posthumously released film "Enter the Dragon" Bruce Lee's legacy has reached almost mythic proportions since his mysterious death from a brain edema in 1973. The legendary martial artist single-fistedly paved the way for a whole new breed of action stars—Chuck Norris Jean-Claude Van Damme Stephen Seagal and Jackie Chan to name a few. Time Magazine once said of Lee "With nothing but his hands feet and a lot of attitude he turned the little guy into a tough guy." He also turned a lot of Americans into Bruce Lee fans and now nearly 45 years after his death his popularity continues to grow forever buoyed by new generations of Lee disciples.
Presented is a highly desirable bank check signed by Bruce Lee and drawn on the account he shared with his wife Linda when they lived in Los Angeles California. Fully executed in Lee’s hand the check is made payable to a Los Angeles book store in the amount of $30.00 and dated Jan. 2 1968. The 6" x 2-13/16" check is in magnificent NM/MT condition allowing for the usual cancellation perforations and stampings that are all far from the bold dark blue ballpoint signature (9/10).
