As any serious baseball fan knows there's the Hall of Fame and then there's the informal upper-echelon wing of the Hall of Fame you know the guys who would still be the Hall of Fame if some knucklehead in Congress devised a law that said Cooperstown's Fire Department regulations would limit capacity to say two dozen players. Hank Aaron would undoubtedly join those musty characters like Ty Cobb Babe Ruth Christy Mathewson et. al in the ranks of immortals and no one would deign to argue the point. When he retired he was the all-time home run king with 755 and the holder of more major league and National League records than you could shake a Louisville Slugger at. This remarkable jersey is from the 1967 season in Atlanta the Braves' second in the Deep South after moving from Milwaukee. Few things illustrate the dominance of King Henry as well as the observation that - had he somehow decided to retire prior to that traumatic move to the South - he still would have been elected to the Hall of Fame yet he would go on to tack another 357 home runs after that point. At 80 he still reigns as the game's great elder statesman a man who matched his 23-year major-league on-field career of unmatched effectiveness and quiet dignity with four decades in retirement in similar fashion as a team executive civil rights advocate and philanthropist.

This Atlanta Braves home jersey was worn by Aaron during the 1967 season. Manufactured by Wilson (Size 40) the white flannel home shirt features the Braves' logo on front blue piping and the intricately embroidered Screaming Brave logo patch on left sleeve. Aarons famed No. 44 is stitched on the front and back in black and red tackle twill. A white tag on the back of the collar has Aaron 67-2" in black stitching. This jersey is completely original and unaltered showing solid usage wear with no significant structural faults. A superb original flannel from a true living legend.

Includes a LOA from MEARS (Grade A9.5).

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
