ADDENDUM: The back letters on the jersey have been restored.
This is a sensational pair of items from the St. Louis Cardinals historic 1967 World Series Championship season a game-worn road jersey and jacket from Dal Maxvill the shortstop and defensive standout for that remarkable ball club. The jersey is in remarkable condition with the famed Cardinals Birds and Bat logo in chenille embroidery on the front above the scripted Cardinals lettering also in red and black. Maxvills No. 27 is on the front and back in red and black felt as is his name in restored block letters across the back. The red Rawlings tagging appears on the front left tail (Size 44) above red embroidery of cursive 67 Maxvill. Laundry instructions tagging is below that with flag tag alongside of Set 1 1967. Shirt shows evidence of light to moderate wear presenting problem-free and as-issued besides the back lettering restoration. The Cardinal red satin jacket is in similarly marvelous condition with Cardinal batter embroidered logo on the front left and Rawlings Size 42 tagging at the collar. The former shortstop has added a bold black Sharpie autograph on the inside back of the jacket below the tagging adding a Game Jacket inscription. Like the jersey the jacket is in superb condition showing only a wee bit of chipping of the red paint on three or four of the metal snaps on the front.
