In 1966 the Seattle Angels managed by Bob Lemon finished as the top team in the hotly contested 12-team Pacific Coast League. After securing the PCL's Western Division flag with a regular-season record of 83-65 the Angels defeated the PCL's Eastern Division Champion Tulsa Oilers in a tight seven-game series. The occasion also marked the last time a professional baseball team won a championship for the Emerald City. Future L.A. Dodgers fan favorite Jay Johnstone led the team with a .340 batting average while 33-year-old right-hander Jim Coates led the pitching corps with 11 victories. This lot features a rare 1966 Seattle Angels Pacific Coast League Champions 14K gold pendant. The front of the pendant shows a batter striking a pose with a glowing halo just above his batting helmet. Back stamped "14K TC". The pendant minus any chain measures 1 3/16" in diameter and comes in extra fine condition with a nice glow.
