This 1965 Topps #485 Nellie Fox card has been graded PSA Mint 9, an exceptional grade for a vintage card from this issue. A PSA Mint 9 reflects a card with virtually flawless original gloss, sharp, unworn corners, and superb centering with only the most minor of imperfections, falling just short of a perfect Gem Mint 10. Cards from the 1965 Topps set, with their bold team-pennant banners and full-color photography, are especially condition-sensitive at the corners and edges, making high-grade survivors like this one significantly scarcer than the overall print run might suggest. Fox, captured here late in his career in a 2B-Coach capacity with the Astros, was a longtime AL standout and future Hall of Famer whose card sees steady demand from vintage Astros and White Sox-era collectors alike. A near-perfect PSA Mint 9 places this card among the finest known examples of the issue.
