From 1955 to 1977, the Baltimore Orioles did not have to worry about the left side of their infield because that was where Brooks Robinson lived. Though Brooks had multiple seasons that were arguably his best, 1964 stands out for his winning the AL MVP Award. Before the season began, Brooks had worked on fine-tuning his swing, and it paid off as he hit .317 with 28 homers and a league leading 118 RBI. Two Baltimore World Championships would follow, and Brooks Robinson would go down as one of the greatest third baseman of all-time.
This Brooks Hillerich & Bradsby 'MC44' gamer from his '64 MVP campaign shows heavy game use with a repaired handle crack and scoring on the left barrel. The left and back barrel displays many ball marks, scuffs and abrasions along with cleat impressions and bat rack paint streaks. A light coat of pine tar is on the handle and Robinson’s number “5” has been handwritten on the knob in black marker. The O's legend has signed and inscribed the barrel with “1964 ALMVP Game Used” on the front barrel in strong blue marker. A museum-worth bat from arguably Brooks Robinson’s finest season. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA and has been graded a GU 9. Autograph certified by PSA/DNA as well.
