Making his Major League in 1955 with the Chicago Cubs Jim King played with the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants (during their first year in SF) before finding a home with the Washington Senators in 1961. Taken by the Senators on December 14 1960 in the Major League expansion draft King became a solid producer for the new franchise. During his six-plus seasons with Washington he hit 88 home runs with a season high of 24 in 1963. For fans of the expansion Washington Senators (1961-1971) this is an artifact that is unbeatable a game-used 1962 Washington Senators road jersey. The road gray Washington Senators flannel exhibits moderate to heavy game use. The use is very even and consistent with no holes or thin spots. The "WASHINGTON" font is dark navy block lettering and is all original. The No. 30 on the back is identical to the Washington front in material and stitching and is also all original. The year (62) and size tags (44) are all original and are found on the left front tail. The Tim McAuliffe tag is also on the left front tail and has been restitched but is believed to be the original tag. This is a very scarce two-year style (1961-62) flannel jersey.
