Nicknamed "The Human Vacuum Cleaner" or "Mr. Hoover", Brooks Robinson is considered the greatest defensive third baseman in major league history. He won his second of 16 straight Gold Gloves in 1961. As this card alludes to, Robinson appeared in both of the All Star Games that took place in 1961. In fact, these were his third and fourth of an incredible 18 consecutive All Star selections. Robinson also led all of baseball with 668 plate appearances in '61. He made the most of them, batting .287 on the year. This example is part of a rare high-grade set break of the 1961 Topps baseball set, as just two of the cards submitted to PSA, or a mere 0.2%, have received a Gem Mint 10 grade.
