Rocky Colavito was a fearsome power hitter for the Cleveland Indians in the late 1950's and Detroit Tigers in the early 1960's. He was good enough to win an AL home run title in 1959 with 42 and hit over 40 homers in two other seasons. Rocky also possessed a magnificent throwing arm which he was always willing to exhibit for unwary baserunners. One of few men to hit four home runs in a game Rocky was a fan favorite wherever he played. The presented Colavito bat dates to 1958 based on manufacturers labeling and other specifications. The 1958 season saw Rocky post staggering line: .303 average 41 homers and 113 RBI. His .620 slugging percentage led the league and he finished 3rd in voting for AL MVP.

Undoubtedly contributing to the offensive damage Colavito inflicted on opposing pitching that year this Hillerich & Bradsby model K55 professional model bat exhibits evidence of excellent use with a handle crack that has been repaired. Several ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the right left and back barrel. Cleat impressions can be seen on the right and back barrel. There is a light coat of pine tar on the mid handle. The model number (K55) is stamped into the knob which also displays 'ROC' written in black marker. Adding to the gravity of this splendid Colavito game is ideal provenance. It was acquired by former Washington Senators bat boy Scott MacDougal in 1958 while performing his duty for the visiting Cleveland Indians at Griffith Stadium. A LOA from Scott MacDougal on Washington Senators letterhead is included. All told this is just a superb Colavitio gamer dating from the power years of his legendary career. Length: 35" Weight: 32.3 oz.

Includes a LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (GU8.5) and LOA from Scott MacDougal.
