The 1956 USC Trojans football team coached by Jess Hill finished their season with an overall record of 8-2 (5-2 in the Pacific Coast Conference) and a national ranking of 15th in the country. Two huge victories for the Trojans that season came against cross-town rival UCLA 10-7 and arch-rival Notre Dame 28-20. This lot includes a 1956 USC Trojans branded football signed in green ink by no less than 56 of the team members. It includes special color call-outs on a single panel of the two big wins versus UCLA and Notre Dame. Notable signatures on the ball include: Jon Arnett Bill Fisk Ron Fletcher Ray Taylor Jack Willis Lou Byrd John Kubas and Ron Fletcher. Most signatures are legible although some fading has occurred. Overall the signatures would rate 6-7/10 in our book.
Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
